Word Search 2026-10-16

The clock starts when you hit Start — server-timed.

You're not signed in — play free, unofficial and untimed-on-the-board. Your time shows at the end with the rank it would have earned. Sign in first to make it count.

How to play the word search
  1. Find every word in the list under the grid.
  2. Words run in straight lines — across, down or diagonally, forwards or backwards.
  3. Drag from the first letter to the last to mark one. Works with a mouse or a finger.
  4. It checks itself once you’ve found them all.

A daily themed word search, played for speed

One grid a day, one theme a day, free for everyone. Every word on the list is in there — across, down, diagonal, and yes, backwards — and the whole thing is timed to the tenth of a second, which turns the puzzle you did on paper as a kid into a surprisingly vicious sport. The theme changes daily, so yesterday’s vocabulary is no head start.

Finding words faster

Don’t read the grid — scan it. Pick each word’s rarest letter and hunt that: Q, J, X and Z are lighthouses, and even a K or V narrows a fifteen-by-fifteen to a handful of cells. For common-letter words, scan for the first two letters as a pair rather than the first alone — far fewer false hits. Sweep in rows for the horizontal words and in columns for the vertical ones, and save the diagonals for last: they’re the slowest hunt, and by then the found-word highlights have shrunk the field. The last word on your list is always the backwards diagonal one. It just is.

The clock

Drag from first letter to last to mark a word — mouse or finger. The server times you from Start to the final find, logs every marked word as you play, and replays the lot before rating your time, per how the honest board works.
